The Happy Thoughts Jar

I love creating handmade gifts, thinking and preparing them makes me feel as if I’m assembling something special. Because of this, Β when a birthday or a certain occasion arrives, my room starts to be a craft laboratory!

Christmas is the most challenging period because I have to “produce” many gifts at the same time. This is why I often think about 2/3 ideas and then personalize the item based on the person who will receive it πŸ™‚

Last Christmas one of the small-gifts I created was The Happy Thoughts Jar.

I bought Β cute little glass jars then made the labels and glued them one at the front and one at the back. On the front one I wrote the name and on the back one I wrote a short description about how to use it. As you can see, I used stencils and coloured paper, plus to add some decoration I utilized washi tapes and stickers.

The basic concept of this little present is that during the year, every time the person who receives the jar feels positive or happy, writes in little piece of paper the reason why he/she is amused. Then, after folding it, the paper has to be insert in the jar. At the end of the year, the jar will be emptied and all the notes will be readed.

As you can see it’s a really simple and inexpensive gift but I believe that the idea behind it is really special: not only every time the recipient of the present will use the jar he/she will think about you, but also he/she could be stimulate to find a positive thought or happy part of the day to write about and it’s for sure a nice feeling!

All of my friends seemed to have appreciated it so I was very glad and fulfilled.

I’ll be posting other creations I made but in the meanwhile I hope you like this one! πŸ™‚

This gift could also fit as an awesome little-present for a friend who is not having a good period and need motivation to be positive or distracted πŸ˜‰

This post was written by Lisa, an Italian girl globetrotting around Europe, blues&soul music lover and singer, addicted to crafting & healthy food. Oh yes, and in the meanwhile she’s a Marketing student.

Mmmm what else? She’s definitely a morning person, really lazy when it comes to make up and could spend more time in a stationary store than in a clothes one –

She loves sharing thoughts, feelings and reactions so do not hesitate to comment or contact her!
