Hello dear followers!
Another Sunday is arrived and my post, about some of my favourite things I’ve done or read which I’d like to share with you, is ready!
By the way, thank you for all your lovely comments on my first Sunday Suggestions post, I’m so glad you liked it!
Let’s start by talking about….food!
If you’re following me on Instagram (if not, I would love to connect with you there too!), you’d know that two weeks ago, I’ve spent a wonderful weekend in Tuscany, in particular I’ve been to Florence and Siena. Useless saying how wonderful those cities are and that I can’t wait to go back!
One of my dearest friends studies there so I have been lucky to have her as guide, I mean… who better than a person who lives in the place you’re visiting could bring around?! I think we all agree 🙂
Knowing how I love going out for dinner and trying new tastes, one of the places she brought me to in Florence was Gesto, a tapas bar. The cool thing about this place, despite the interior design and decorations, is that to order you tapas you have to write what you’d like using a chalk on a little black board. This is also why the place is called “Gesto” which in Italian means gesture 🙂
I found it a really unusual and nice idea!
Also, what I like about Tapas bars in general is that, since the portion is not as big as a normal one, you can order more dishes and taste different kind of food.
This one in the picture was a portion of Falafel with yogurt sauce. Unfortunately the light wasn’t really good for taking pictures (and you know I’m not that good at taking them either :p ) so I can’t show you the other plates we’ve ordered but I can tell you they were all good! Plus, they have a really vast choice of food: meat, fish, veggies and desserts too. The kind of kitchen is both Italian but also ethnic, for example I got a plate composed by taijne veggies and Jasmine rice which was really good!
The price is quite okay: between 4-6€ each plate. We got 3 each and it was enough!
Talking about summer…
Summer is by now established, it’s a coming and going of people who are leaving for going on holiday or who are coming back. About this topic, I really appreciated reading this post written by Corina Joy from To The Moon And The Stars. It makes you stop for a second and define for which reasons you want to travel and which kind of meaning you want to give to it. I found it really interesting and inspiring since I believe most of the times, we take for granted many aspects of travelling which actually are not obvious at all.
While, if some of you fellow readers are still unsure where to go this summer, Niki from EatLiveTravelDrink wrote down this amazing list of places you should visit this summer which I definitely recommend you to check! 🙂
Have a lovely Sunday everyone! 😘
The cover picture I’ve used for this post and my new profile picture have been taken by my awesome friend Lara, she takes amazing pics and is obsessed with flowers and nature! Check her IG profile @laraforestan to see her gorgeous snaps and follow her if you want to see in between your feeds that touch of colour and glow that just mother nature can give us! 😉
I’m so obsessed with this song by Laura Izibor at the moment! First of all, I love the title and the lyrics (so summery and cheerful), plus the rhythm and sound just make you wanna dance immediately. I would definitely suggest this song if you need a shot of positive vibes! 🙂
