Review: Afternoon Tea at Peggy Porchen

Happy Sunday everyone!

As every Sunday suggestion post, I’m going to start with a review but I must admit that the review I’m going to share with you today it’s particularly special. Indeed, the place I’m featuring is very known here in London, and it practically appears in every IG page dedicated to coffee shops in London. But I promised a friend I would have gone with her so last weekend when she came to visit me this was practically the event of her trip here (yes, we’re both coffee/pastry/cute spots fanatics 😀 ).

So, let’s go to the actual review, the place is called Peggy Porchen, you can check their website here, as you can see it’s all about cakes, afernoon tea with a touch of pink (yeah, very girly 😀 )

The shop itself from the outside will already make you wanna take 200 pictures, as you can see! Unfortunately the weather was very bad when we went there but it didn’t loose it’s charm!

When you enter, you’ll literally be confused between what cake to choose and admiring all the lovely details and decorations.

Unfortunately, I have to say that the place available inside is very little, and on a Sunday or Rainy day it’s kinda impossible finding a place where to sit inside. They welcomed us to sit outside in one of their little cute white tables but I have and well…we had our first “afternoon tea under the rain”, eating and drinking tea while holding the umbrella under the pouring rain. I think we were too excited about being there to actually realise it was very uncomfortable but yeah, if I’d ever go back on a rainy day I’d better wait for a free spot inside.

Anyway, going back to what we ate and drink, I had an amazing pice of (lactose & gluten-free) almond cake with green-rose tea, while my friend enjoyed a strawberry and champagne cupcake with a fruity tea. Useless to say that everything was delicious!

After this glowing review, it’s time to pass to the second topic of the post….Spring is finally in the air here in London! Days are becoming longer, the weather is a bit warmer and flowers start to be all over around! About this I loved the 5 Tips to Welcome Spring written down by Kathleen from thegoodthefabandthelovely.com, especially #2 Buy some fresh flowers, a very tiny gesture but it can definitely bring new vibes in your room!

The changing of seasons though, besides bringing new and exciting vibes could also lead to have ups and downs in your every-day feeling. But if it ever happens to you to have a bad-mood day I’d strongly suggest to take a look to the post written by Monique from beachygirlmonique.wordpress.com, “Bad days & How to turn them around” as she cited, ‘Everyday may not be a good day but there is something good in everyday’ which I do belive as well! And if you need more other ideas, Amy from amyquitecontrary.wordpress.com wrote this “20 Things To Do When You’re Feeling Down” which can defintiely be helpful! Personally, it also happenns that I’m not in a great mood because of a not good night sleep and for the occasion I founded this post written by Jess from jessica-emily.com where she shared 5 things she does for a better night sleep, very useful especially comined with the tips that Jenny from jennyinneverland.com that she wrote down here.

So dear readers, I hope you’ll enjoy this lovely spring-ishSunday, that you sleep well and that you’re surrounded by loads of positive vibes!

How adorable of a place!! I had heard before about inside vs outside seating and there being a charge but may I ask what it cost to sit outside? This is just such an odd thing to me living here in the US. I sure do want to go there too! Looks so fun and cute!! And …yummy!!

It’s the same price sitting outside or inside: they charge you a bit more on the food. But yes, it’s a lovely place and the food is definitely yummy!! 🙂

I have seen this tiny café on Instagram so many times, it’s impossible not to want to visit! So sad it was raining and you couldn’t quite enjoy it though. They shouldn’t have even offered you to sit outside or at least provide big umbrellas. Looks very cute though, and I love your positive message in the end! 🙂

Aw! Looks like such a cute and girly cake shop!!! I love the how they painted their part of the building that soft pink color, it really makes it pop and so very appealing to enter! I can’t even imagine the beautiful little pasties they probably have to choose from…. knowing me I’d end up with 5 different ones if not more!
